Presenting a Structural Model of Sports Success Based on Competitive Anxiety and Perception of Failure with the Mediation of Social Support Perception in High School Student Athletes

Abstract

Objectives:The aim of the present study was to present a structural model of sports success based on competitive anxiety and perception of failure with the mediation of social support perception in the second secondary school students. Methods In terms of its nature and goals, this research is applied and the correlation method was used for its implementation. The statistical population of this research included all students, all students, sports students of the second secondary level of Ajabshir, numbering 352 people. The statistical sample was selected based on the Kargesi and Morgan table in the number of 185 people through available sampling method. To collect information from the competitive anxiety questionnaires of Martner and the fear of performance failure assessment by Conroy et al. the perception of social support Zimmet, Dalm and Farley and the sports success questionnaire of Mousavi and Vaez Mousavi. used. For data analysis, path analysis was used SPSS and Amos. Findings: The results showed that competitive anxiety and perception of failure and perception of social support have the ability to predict sports success, and competitive anxiety and perception of failure have an indirect effect on sports success through the mediation of perception of social support. And it is concluded that sports success in student athletes can be predicted through predictive and mediating variables.
