Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of physical, mental and combined exercises on the balance disorders of elderly men with Parkinson's disease. The present semi-experimental research used the pre-test-post-test design and the purposeful sampling method. The statistical sample of the research was 40 male Parkinson's patients aged 55-70, who were placed in 4 groups of 10 (physical, mental, combined and control exercises). Research participants did 24 sessions of 45 minutes in their training groups. To measure balance, the force plate test was used to evaluate balance in a static state, the SEBT test was used to evaluate balance in a dynamic state, and the Wilson motor imagery ability questionnaire was used to measure motor imagery ability. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance with repeated measurements (4x2) at a significance level of 0.05 and Tukey's post hoc test using S. P. S. S version 23 were analyzed. The results of the analysis of variance showed that there was a significant difference in the displacement of the center of pressure on the X and Y axes, anterior dynamic balance, external and internal posterior dynamic balance, and the ability to visualize movement between the physical, mental, combined and control exercise groups in the post-test, and so that in the exercise group The combination was more improved than the physical group and the physical group was better than the mental group. Therefore, it is suggested to use physical training experts who are aware of physical and mental and combined exercises in order to improve Parkinson's patients in medical centers and hospitals.
