The aim of the present study was to investigate the electromyographic activity of lower extremity and trunk muscles in young females during normal walking and walking with motor, cognitive and visual dual task. The statistical sample of this study was 10 young female students from the university of Tabriz. The electrical activity of bilateral erector spinea at third lumbar vertebra, rectos femoris and biceps femoris muscles were assessed using EMG USB2 + system and bipolar jelly surface electrods while walking with and without cognitive, motor and visual dual tasks. The data were analyzed using SPSS software version 22and ANOVA for repeated measure statistical method with significance level of 0.05.The results showed that the effect of dual task on the electrical activity of the muscles was different (p= 0.049), and the EMG activity was high during motor dual task. Also, the lowest muscle activity was seen while walking with cognitive dual task. The activity of various muscles was different (P=0.038) and biceps femoris muscle showed the highest activity. There was a significant interaction between muscle and body side (p=0.031). But the interaction between the muscle, motor task and the body side was not statistically significant (P=0.225).Dual task had a different effect on the intensity of muscle activity and motor dual task increased activity of selected muscles while walking. So, it is recommended that special attention should be paid in rehabilitation of people with gait disorders.
